Disclaimer: The title is not meant to have any sexist connotation
My favourite pastime to get by classes is doodle, drawing whatever my hand decides to. I doodle on the desks, on my books, or her books. While the professor drones on about nothing worth my attention, I would be drawing flowers, stars, shapes. Or weird-looking [...]

Lost without translation

Posted by: Squareface In: Language| SUG

As some of you already know, I’m picking up some Korean as we go along, but my Korean vocabulary is somewhere around a four-year-old and my grammar probably… a two-year-old? Do they start talking at two?
So today we were having a nice sam gyup sal (BBQ pork belly) dinner at a friend’s place and naturally [...]

This birthday

Posted by: Squareface In: Ramblings| SUG

To commemorate the day they were smacked on their bottoms and started crying screaming, some people throw parties, ranging from hosting a dinner at a restaurant, shake away at clubs, or just get drunk with friends at some random alcohol-serving establishment. Perhaps the first and last time to celebrate it for and with you. Hope you had a good 22nd.

My Auntie spirit is still very much alive and very ready to show itself when the situation arises. Last week we saw people queuing and decided to check it out:

Promoters were giving away bottles of 水溶C100! Ok, I admit I didn’t know what the drink was before this, but all we had to do was [...]

(spotted by Grace)
It’s time to fart! Fart loud, fart proud!

So I’ve stopped worrying about melamine in the milk, ice-cream, or chocolate nor the kidney stones that may be at the early stages of development already. Afterall, the problems are going to surface only ten years down the road, right?
I’ve also stopped being too analytical about the colours and textures of the meat I’m eating, [...]

From New Jersey, with S2

I received the above in my mail, with a card, in a plain flat envelope, no bubble whatsoever, on a blue-monkey-socks-wearing day (you made it just in time huh). A very lovely surprise, and I think about how the Reese’s underwent countless transferrals from containers, hands, and was possibly squashed under the weight of so [...]
