The Cost Of (What Hasn’t Even Happened)

Monday

Her: My manager resigned.

Me: *discusses possibilities*

Me: (jokingly) And by then maybe you won’t have time and energy to coax me and deal with us…

Her: Nonsense! I’m sure you’re understanding enough…

Me: Hmm…

Tuesday

Me: Hello!

Her: Hey…*yawns*

Me: Oh, tired ah?

Her: Yah loh had to blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah *yawns*……then tomorrow need to blah blah blah blah blah blah blah *yawns*

Me: Okok, faster go sleep ba!

Wednesday

Her: Hey sorry can’t talk to you, I’m still at work, call you tomorrow ok?

Me: Okay…

Thursday

Me: Hello?

Her: (in a daze) Huh?

Me: Hey!

Her: Hmm?

Me: Sleeping ah?

Her: zzzzzz

Me: Hello? You ok?

Her: Huh? Oh sorry, I fell asleep just now, sorry didn’t call you…

Me: Oh okay, talk to you tomorrow then…

Her: Sorry ah, zzzzz

Friday

Her: Hello!

Me: Hey…

Her: Hmm…

Me: Yeah?

Silence. Both find nothing to say, mostly because it’s been a while since the last decent conversation.

Me: Actually you don’t have to call everyday ba.

Her: Okay, I’ll call thrice a week? Really tired sometimes, scared got nothing to say…

Me: (somewhat sarcastically/hypocritically) When you have stuff to say then call me loh, when I have things to tell you then I call you loh?

Her: Okay…

Perhaps I’m just not an understanding girlfriend?

    hey babe…

i dont talk to E as often and according to him, we can call whenever we feel like chatting or have smth to tell each other. seriously, i think that is better. silence in a conversation just lead to awkwarness. E yawns alot during conversations and he is always very tired (which i have no idea why okay…). I can understand why S is so tired cos she is holding a 9-6pm job and in addtion she has OT. i dont think she doesnt want to talk to u okay? please dont think so much haha

i got abit pissed the other day and told him off that pls respect me when you talk to me on the phone. (he yawns at every single conversations we have and he yawns at least 3 times within a 15mins conversation? dig that… )

i feel that we are busy with our lives and if u guys actually talk every other day, that is alr very good. pls dont compare yourself to some other LDR where the couples talk everyday for long hours. every couple will hit their low note once in a while and i think it is normal that you and S have nothing to talk about. it happens. it happens to me and E often enough cos E admits that he is a quiet person (Bleah…. so irritating right..) so instead of trying to be sarcastic and push her to a corner, just be open-minded abt things and see how it goes lor.. really…

I think in LDR chit-chats are just part of the package. we shouldnt judge our r/s based on chit-chats. that would be too mean to our partners and to our r/s.

I know exactly how u feel.. CHEER UP BABE! it is actually a really small matter.. and we girls tend to kick up a big fuss over trivial stuff.. and it should be a happy thing that she is going to be promoted ya? see you online okay?

    love

Thank you dearie! So is this the kind of personal stuff u want me to blog more about? haha…didn’t really wanna post it at first coz i felt it’s a bit too personal…but does it make u feel that u’re not so alone in dealing with the trials and tribulations of an LDR? heh…
