Music is finally heard in the house

I dusted off the cobwebs and dug out my Yamaha keyboard, that which I haven’t touched in a year.

Thanks to a good friend who has a great deal of potential to be a singer-songwriter, I was enlightened and tried to season the keyboard today after one year of idleness, and another eight months to come.

VB no longer exists in Squareface’s life

Unless I fail the module, which I am crossing my fingers to not be the case.

Remember how I complained about why VB sucks, more on why VB sucks, and posted a picture of how Grace and me made efforts for VB only to go nowhere?

HAHA NO MORE VB!!!! It was so torturous, and I didn’t skip a single lesson ok. Urgh. Gotta thank Grace for that occasional necessary push.

Should I tear the pages and then throw away my VB textbook, or shall I burn it? Which is the worse way to kill a book?

Last Day of this Semester

No more classes! Too fast! Too fast! Time, wherefore art thou haste so?

CG said I very “arh” with my Close Reading teacher, Professor Lu, so yeah here’s to show you how “arh” we are (Flickr images are blocked in China):

Professor Lu, Vanessa (Shao Feng), and me (please notice the condition of the classroom):

I’m gonna miss her thought-provoking classes. :(

Hmm

What are you going to do about this?

There’s something about UBC

I love UBC already.

If you are flying into the Vancouver International Aiport in late August or early September, orientation volunteers will be on hand to greet you at the Vancouver International Airport. Once you pass through Immigration and Canada Customs, look for the gold and blue UBC banner and booth.

A free UBC shuttle will be there to drive you to UBC.

Online Relationships

This is a hot topic…in the past. It was almost everyone’s coffee table talk, and then all that armchair talk just stopped. Or did it? Maybe I just haven’t been around.

FriendFinder is reminiscent of Friendster, as I find their user interface very familiar. However, the intent is not to be seeking friends whom you’ve lost contact with but more of establishing a friendship with a complete stranger. It’s about the possibility of finding a suitable partner online by means of this portal.

The good: no restrictions. There is the option of men seeking women; women seeking men; men seeking men; women seeking women

The bad: can only browse after you register

There are a large number of people already registered, surprisingly. Over 30,000 are registered in China, and 12,000 in Singapore.

I don’t recall ever sustaining any online relationships. There was always the desire to meet, and then there was no safety net anymore. Whatever persona you create won’t hold anymore, and you can’t just click the x to close the window, running away involves the physical action. The only one I remember actually coming close to having a relationship with was someone I talked to online for a period of time, say a month or less, proceeded to talk on the phone for another month or less, but when it was time to meet I chickened out. Conversations were intriguing and maybe something could have developed, but I enjoyed the chickening out part too.

Nevertheless, I know friends who successfully find their significant other online, and it does sustain for some time. Sometimes, I guess.

Lelong Lelong

At the risk of being called an entrepreneur desperado, I didn’t want to blog about this.

Last year after my mother saw the items that I brought home, she actually suggested (quite a good suggestion, hard to come by) to approach retailers and sell to them instead of doing the selling on my own. However, after we worked out the cost etc, we realized that it still wouldn’t be as profitable as selling them as a retailer myself, since the cost price of bringing them in is assumed to be more than the price that retailers can get from their own wholesalers.

I did the flea market thing during my last holiday break (thanks Winnie, Lac, and Sam) just for the fun of it, to try to lelong lelong just for the heck of it. However, Dot managed to psycho me into doing it again, this time focusing only on 2 items — underwear and socks.

I’m not as excited about it as I was the previous time, but I sure hope that there will be a profit. I feel a little LC though.

Dot, you and your wise idea la. I have a bad feeling about it leh…

What do you all think? Can sell? Should sell?

The finger is not my home

Reminiscing where I belong

Or do I?

Because I have problems uploading videos on this blog, view what I’ve been watching by clicking the Majulah Singapura video and an animated version of Hossan Leong’s We Live in Singapura.

Learn how to trade stock options

I know zilch about stock options.

Need someone to hold your hand and guide you, like I do? Have lots of money to play around with, which I don’t?

Learn how to manoeuvre around index stock options trading:

“We teach you online the stock option trading basics, give you the signals, and the leading indicators that allow you to “read” the market. No NEED to chart….just study our unique formulas on support and resistance and trade around them.

Interested? Want to see our approach. We offer a 15-day free trial to our service. Simply go to our subscriptions page and sign up. Remember, however, that you don’t learn a new job in 15 days, so you’ll only get a feel for what we do.

The articles we provide, and the ongoing “detail” helps you to learn to trade, gain maximum profits, minimize losses….and truly learn to trade like an index OEX stock option day trader. We are an OEX option trading resource, not just daily trading signals.”

One day I hope to have some knowledge in stock option trading, play around, and hopefully have my money miraculously grow just by having good perception. Haha. Dreams are dreams are dreams.
