Squareface’s Guesthouse
I’m housing 2 guests (an acquaintance and her sister) from tomorrow till Tuesday, and for that I have been cleaning my place for the past 2 days.
I do not exaggerate when I say my house floor is filthy, because the last time it was mopped was when my parents were here. I use the vacuum cleaner on my floor once in a while (more like once a month), but the idea of dipping a mop into water with floor detergent and then having to squeeze the mop numerous times is too much to even think about, let alone act on. I’m usually satisfied if I simply vacuum the floor when the dirt gets too much, which is rare since I let dirt stay in their cosy little corners and build their family there.
So I’ve been tidying up the place a little, and even vacuumed and mopped the place twice.
Here’s a look at before and after shots:

Before Before After
I guess it’s good that their impending appearance has pushed me to do things I have been procrastinating for weeks to do. My arms are aching and I’m really tired from all the clearing up of my mess accumulation. I have learnt that it is imperative to keep stuff you no longer need as soon as possible before it decides to make friends with dust. That friendship causes double work for me. I’ve finally kept away all my winter stuff, including winter clothing. I even vacuum packed it and stuffed it in one of those plastic containers. Okay I shan’t continue to bore you with the details of my way of sweating it out with dust (I was about to talk about cleaning the toilet so you should be glad I’m going to place a full-stop soon), but friends of mine, this is to show you the extent I go to house others, which I will not do so for you. Haha. You’re definitely welcome to crash at my place, but you shall have to live with the colonies of dirt, for they are my housemates, and you, the housemaid.
