Scattered ideas in Squareface’s head

I have some little aspirations. A few days ago I was toying with the idea of really getting to know the places of interest in Shanghai and offer free/paid tours. Of course this isn’t a novel idea to people, but it’s a debut entry to my list of ‘Things I wanna do before I die’.

Another new entry to that list is setting up an online store or something. Selling what? Well, I’m not sure. Haha.

Yet another new entry is to try selling things at a flea market, which 2 of my friends have expressed interest in. We’re still unsure of what to sell though, but I hope to be able to buy stock soon. Buying the stock would make the plan more concrete I suppose, and it marks some progress.

In Shanghai, even in the city area, there are plenty of sidewalk entrepreneurs who simply open their stall, and then pack up and run when they see the 黑猫s (a nickname for the police). They don’t exactly run though. They simply go through the motions of packing, for the sake of appeasing the police, and then come right out again when the police go away. There’s no stopping them, eh?

Fudan school compound. Two policemen waiting on their bicycles for these sidewalk entrepreneurs to pack up and leave. They took approximately 20 minutes.
